100 Years and Counting!

Welcome to all aspiring, novice and expert gardeners! Hope everyone had a great summer dallying in their garden.  September is here and soon we will be putting our gardens to bed for the winter.  Still lots of colour though with garden mums, rudebeckia, mallows, asters, hydrangeas and so on.   Time to cut down the plants that are finished and compost them  (e.g. hollyhocks, veronica, shasta daisies, lilies and the like).  Leave your late flowering perennials standing in the garden over the winter to feed the birds.

The Beaverton Garden Club & Horticultural Society (BHS) is a volunteer run, non-profit organization and a member of the Ontario Horticultural Association (District 17).  We are located in Beaverton, Ontario, CANADA!  At our 2021 AGM, members voted to "nickname" our society as the Beaverton Garden Club (BGC), however, the Beaverton Horticultural Society will still remain as our legal name as required by OMAFRA.   Be sure to check out our upcoming events and event calendar.

Our next general meeting is September 28 with speakers Gini Sage and Karen Durnin on "Gardening for the Birds".   We also have a topiary workshop on October 26 (details soon).
